Jess tilted back on the park swing, leaning into the warm heat of Sam's chest. For someone who was so cutely awkward outside of the lecture halls, he sure knew how to show a girl a good time.

Instead of trying to overcompensate, he had brought her to a cute hole-in-the-wall restaurant that she was determined to visit again. The food was excellent and relatively inexpensive; she was surprised that more students weren't aware of the place. And instead of trying to finish the night off with a movie or dancing at a club, they had walked down to a quiet park, chatting about anything and everything.

Though, Jess acknowledged reluctantly, that probably meant she was just a cheap date with people she was comfortable with. She already felt more comfortable with Sam than any of her previous boyfriends and their first date hadn't yet finished.

"Jess?" Sam asked, a faint thread of worry in his tone as he stopped the swing completely. For being such a beanpole, Sam was pretty strong.

Jess found herself frowning inwardly at the return of his nervousness, though. She had been sure that Sam had banished his first date jitters after she had gotten him talking with her, opening herself up to any questions he managed to ask. Sam would just have to learn that she wasn't some blonde cheerleading harpy and there was no reason to be nervous around her. But there would be plenty of time for him to catch on, since Jess was definitely keeping him.

Smiling, Jess dug her bare feet into the sand and lifted herself up off the park swing, looping her hand around Sam's neck to pull him into an upside-down kiss. His lips were warm and chapped, pressing against hers hesitantly until she swiped her tongue over his upper lip. He opened up for her then, twining their tongues as he devoured her mouth with a skill that made her toes curl.

If asked, she would deny the faint whimper that came from her throat when Sam pulled back to steal her swing, sitting down and pulling her into his lap. She lifted herself up from his thighs, humming contentedly when Sam caught her mouth and resumed mapping out her tonsils. Her mind fogged pleasantly as Sam showcased some excellent kissing skills, letting her thread fingers through the hair at the nape of his neck.

Her late grandmother would've called him a keeper. And there was no way she was letting him go.

"That isn't how it works," Lucifer says.

Castiel holds his ground. Lucifer hasn't moved a muscle save the occasional (though unnecessary) blink of Nick's eyes, but there is no denying the presence of him. He is the Morning Star, beautiful and terrible in equal measure, and Castiel must hold his ground.

He manages, but barely.

"You only say that because no one has dared ask you," Castiel says. He has no skills for lying, so he does not try. "I am asking you."

"What a very human thing to say." The smile on Nick's face is soft and kind. The true smile beneath it is something completely different. "Though, once you would not have even thought to seek me out like this. I suppose it's all that free will business that has you down this slippery slope."

"Am I wrong?"

There is now the suggestion of study when he looks at Castiel. "No," Lucifer says.

Castiel does not flee. He holds his ground like the good soldier he is (fighting for a different side now, but always fighting, always faithful) as Lucifer approaches him with a gait more befitting a man of leisure.

Castiel does not flinch when Lucifer slides a hand behind his neck.

"It's funny," Lucifer says, breath ghosting over Castiel's mouth, "But I've never done this before. What would the minions think?"

Castiel almost asks for clarification, but then Lucifer's mouth is on his and the words are forgotten.

Nick's lips are soft and warm, so some body instinct left over has Castiel parting his own lips to receive them, only to be shocked by the sudden touch of a tongue against his. He almost pulls away but Lucifer's hand is firm, holding him still as the tongue curls deep and possessive.

Disgust starts to rise but it is silenced when Lucifer breathes -- not human breath, but the touch of Lucifer's true essence, its power barely contained.

It has been so long since Castiel had been in contact with another of his own kind he'd almost forgotten the comfort of it. He has become too human as of late, too bogged down by petty hurts and limitations of the flesh, but now he remembers, and he presses in, tasting all Lucifer gives and barely noticing what Lucifer takes.

Eventually Lucifer pulls away, but he does not retreat far. Castiel opens his eyes feeling faintly disturbed, not having realized that he'd closed them.

"The deal is done," Lucifer says, fingers gentle where they stroke Castiel's neck. "I will collect you once it is all over."

Castiel nods silently, barely trembling at the last lingering touch of Lucifer's hand to his cheek.

The offer is fair, one soul for another, but for the first time since he'd made this decision Castiel starts to fear his final fate.

Neal supposed that most shocking aspect of it all was the fact that Peter had been the aggressor. All things considered, he had to admit, he hadn't thought the straight-laced, serious faced FBI agent capable. But the bricks were digging into his back, and Peter was pressing against him. He scarcely had even a moment to think before he was wrapping his arms over Peter's shoulders, arching against him and lifting his leg just a little to tease down the side of Peter's. Peter's breath hitched, and he flashed Neal a look-- was that the "behave" look?-- which Neal happily countered by licking Peter's ear.

He could hear someone approaching, and one of Peter's hands lifted to tangle in his hair, forcing him to keep looking ahead, to keep his eyes locked with Peter's. He swallowed, and when he opened his mouth to speak, he was cut off by Peter leaning in, closing the last of the distance between them, and kissing him. Neal struggled for only a second, and when the footsteps rushed loudly past him, he threw himself into it, kissing back with as much passion as he could manage. Footsteps slowed, and Peter's hand wandered down lower until he squeezed a handful of Neal's rear, making Neal growl slightly into his mouth.

There was a snort, and then they were gone, and Peter took his time pulling back, his teeth pulling just slightly on Neal's lower lip. After another minute, Neal began disentangling himself, ignoring the sharp tingles shooting along his senses. Peter looked at him oddly, and for a heartbeat, Neal thought he was going to crack some joke about a certain... intimacy that it had all caused between them.

"I'd have thought you'd be better at that," Peter said flatly, and Neal's mouth opened slightly, shocked at what Peter had chosen to pick on him about. "I mean, the way the women look at you... I guess the packaging isn't always a good indication of skill, is it?" He shrugged, reaching up to straighten his tie. Neal punched his shoulder lightly.

"Me? You're the one who needs practice. I feel sorry for Elizabeth." Neal's grin returned, at ease now that he was sure the storm had passed. They had clearly managed to mislead the men after them, and Peter wasn't about to remark on Neal having dug so firmly against him. Free kisses to boot, life was good.

They were sitting on top of the playground slide like they usually did on their dates. Both of them liked things to be informal, not that anyone could have a fancy date in the slums, but they still liked just talking and laughing. Zack always told the most hilarious tales and Aeris would always lean on him as she smiled.

Zack's phone suddenly rang and he answered it. After a short conversation, he shut the phone and sighed.

"I have to go now, Aeris. They want me for some mission or another," said Zack.

"That's okay," said Aeris, still smiling, "I know you have to work for a living. Everyone does."

"Heh, this is why I'm lucky to have you as a girlfriend. You're always understanding." Zack then stood up and jumped down to the ground. When he landed he bowed to Aeris and opened his arms to catch her.

With a little oomph, Aeris pushed herself down into Zack's arms. When he caught her, he twirled her around and leaned over and stole a little kiss from her.

He grinned and said, "That's a kiss to remember me by. I wanted our first one to be dramatic." Winking at Aeris, he then ran off to wherever Zacks go when they have a mission.

Aeris touched her lips and smiled gently. "Always the unexpected from you, huh?"
